Having been with Miss Alison for over 3 years now, I can truly say that both my girls still love their dancing. The lessons are friendly and welcoming and all standards are catered for, Miss Alison is also friendly, relaxed and approachable and has a great ability to balance fun and hard work throughout the different age ranges. It doesn’t matter whether you are looking to work your way up through the grades or just enjoy dancing, everyone improves and gets the most from their time under Miss Alison’s eagle eye. The professionalism and work that is put into the bio-annual show is amazing and gives the children, and the parents, the chance to really feel and experience what it is like to be part of a large stage production. My two daughters have been dancing with Alison now for more years that I can count. They both started young, Lucy at 2 and half and Emma slightly older, Emma continued until six form. They have been involved with the fabulous shows she has organised, with amazing costumes and entertaining performances. We can thoroughly recommend her ballet, modern and tap. Allison has a great way of making all classes fun, not too serious but still achieving grades for those that wish. She can tailor the approach to suit all ages from toddler to teen and has a great rapport with the girls. she is incredibly well organised and flexible and patient adapting when she can to meet the needs of busy parents and children. She encourages and supports to get the best from the children but in away that they enjoy and find fun. I have never had either girl say they don't want to go to any weeks lessons despite being busy or tired which with the amount my children have done is a real indicator of their enjoyment. Alison encourages and works with all levels and abilities to have fun and improve through dance. All in all she is great as our, what must be 20 years accumulated lessons, can testify too. My daughter began ballet at the Alison-Jayne School of Dance when she was just 3 years old. She loved it straight away! Now aged eight she has progressed onto doing tap and modern as well as ballet. Alison's approach has been great fun for my daughter including the challenge of exams and the thrill of performing at the Kenton theatre in the biannual shows.
